Rainel Woerdings , the Chief Executive Officer and Tchnical Director of Coerver Coaching Course, Netherlands has emphasized the importance of harnessing and developing players at a tender age.
Woerdings made this known during the opening ceremony of the Coerver Coaching Course held at the Goal Project, in Abuja National Stadium on Tuesday.
“Proper grooming and training of Nigerian players from early age of 7 years will help to develop these players into great stars in the future. Coaching refers to how you educate and communicate with the players as you aim to impact technical skills to these players and it is better when they are kids, ” Woerdings said.
The Coerver boss also said that Gareth Bale was a beneficiary of their coaching program when he was among the kids that Coerver coaches trained in Wales many years ago and today he is a football star in Real Madrid and in the national team of Wales. He however affirmed that the Nigerians coaches have a lot to benefit in the Coerver coaching course.
” I think Nigerian coaches can benefit greatly from the knowledge in Coerver coaching course. The coaches will develop better and will also help the Nigerian players to develop better and in the end we will have more coaches and players who have developed in the technical aspects of the game”, he said.
The NLO Coerver Coaching Course is expected to come to an end on Thursday, 6 Ocober, 2017.
