RCF Unizik Felicitates With Newly Appointed VC

It has been celebrations all around the school campus as Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone emerged as the new Vice Chancellor of the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Following this development, the Redeemed Christian Fellowship Unizik Awka, has sent congratulatory message to the new VC.

In their message, they said, “It is with great pleasure that we received the news of your appointment as the Vice Chancellor-elect of this great institution of learning. We wish you the very best as you represent us Sir.

“We are sure that under your great leadership, wisdom and guidance will strive towards much greater heights and achievements as we push for excellence through discipline by being self reliant.

Prof Esimone became a professor at the age of 37, emerging as the youngest professor in the university and her first Professor of Pharmacy as well as the first Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology in Southeastern Nigeria. He has been nominated as the 18th most published scholar in Nigeria and a recipient of several awards from Germany, USA, South Africa, China, India, etc.

He is the state campus coordinator for Deeper Life Campus Fellowship, Anambra State; happily married and blessed with three boys and two girls.

Prof Charles Esimone, FAS, will become the 6th substantive Vice Chancellor of the university and will begin his tenure from the 4th of June 2019.

The outgoing VC, Prof Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, FAS, administration so far has transformed the university in all ramifications and has been driven by excellence and rare vision.
