Ex-staff of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Haruna Kolo, who made false allegations against the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Muheeba Dankaka on Monday, has been ordered to appear before the House of Representatives ad-Hoc Committee probing allegations of job-racketeering against the Commission on Thursday, 10 August, 2023 or face the wrath of the law.

The Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Yusuf Gagdi handed down the order on Wednesday, 9 August, 2023 after Kolo failed to appear before the committee twice in succession.

The embattled Kolo, who admitted collecting millions of Naira to sell job slots while giving evidence on Monday, was supposed to appear on Tuesday and Wednesday but he was nowhere to be found in the hall when members of the Committee sat on the two days.

There are reports that Kolo is trying to flee the country after overwhelming evidence has shown that he was collecting millions of Naira for job slots to applicants.

In his evidence, he falsely alleged that he was giving the money to Dr Dankaka but when asked for proof, he couldn’t provide any, saying he paid through POS. It was obvious that he was lying because POS operators issued receipts for transactions.

He also said that he gave money to the FCC Chairman in her house but investigation has revealed that he did not even know where she is living not to talk of entering her house.

Further evidences by those he collected money from have indicted Kolo and exonerated Dr Dankaka.

The two witnesses who gave evidence on Tuesday confirmed that Kolo indeed collected money from them but said in categorical term that there was no involvement of the FCC Chairman in their deal with him.

“He collected money from us but there was no mention of the name of the Chairman. She was not involved in our discussion and deal with him. Her name never come up in any of our discussion,” they said.

The Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Yusuf Gagdi, thus ordered that Kolo should appear before the committee on Thursday. He also ordered that Kolo’s present employers, AMCON should produce Kolo on Thursday.
