Four suspects have been arrested and charged before Apapa Magistrates court for allegedly burgling a Mosque and a shop at market and carted away property kept inside the place in the night in Ajegunle in Lagos State Nigeria.
The suspects are Ibrahim Tukura, 20, Victor Chucks,22, Abudu Samad,28 and Mustapha Lawal, 25.
According to police, the suspects went in the night and broke the Mosque located near Alaba Oro market and stole some property including a standing Fan there and escaped.
When they did not found much to steal there, they went to Alaba Suru Market in the same area and broke into a shop belonging to one Chigozie Nwamaizu through the ceiling and carted away some goods and cash.
While they were escaping, a team of police officers on patrol accosted them and asked to know where they were coming from that early morning with the items.
When they did not give satisfactory answers, they arrested them with those items and took them to the station.
At the station, they confessed that they broke into the Mosque and the shop and stole those items.
The police recovered the items and charged before the court for stealing at the place of worship and the shop.
They pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr Titus Abolarinwa granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail.
The matter was adjourned till 31 October 2016.
