Dare-devil armed robbers threw the residents of Okota into confusion on Wednesday afternoon after they stormed a popular supermarket and carted away money and products worth millions of naira.
The incident happened at the supermarket near Ago junction roundabout in Okota, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that no death was recorded, but one of the workers sustained severe injury and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital by the police at Okota Division while others workers sustained minor injuries in the operation that lasted for about 45 minutes.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the men drove to the place with their SUV, surrounded the place with their arms, gained access to the safe and carted away all the money found there.
As if that was not enough, they reportedly selected expensive items and loaded into their waiting vehicle and escaped.
An eye witness said after they have successfully carried out their operation, while escaping they shot sporadically into the air and drove off.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when information got to the police at Okota Division, a team of armed policemen raced to the scene, but before then the bandits have escaped.
The police immediately carried the victim and took him to the hospital.
When our reporter visited Okota Police Division, the DPO was not around as he was said to have moved to the scene of the incident.
However, police sources confirmed the incident and said they have moved into investigation.
The Lagos Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO could not be reached as his phone was switched off.
