Robbers Steal Chief Kenny Martins 2 Licenced Pumps Action Guns During Operation

Robbers reportedly invaded the house of Chief Kenny Martins in Lagos State and stole his two licenced pump action guns worth N500,000 and escaped despite the retinue of security aides.

 

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that two suspects, Fidelis Ikwe, 26 and Onyiro Godspower, 26, have been arrested and charged for stealing the guns.

 

The incident happened in June,2024 at Ololeye Street, Opebi area of Lagos.

 

The complainant, Chief Martins, reported to the Police at Area F Command, Ikeja, Lagos over the missing items when he discovered that they were stolen.

 

The Police moved into action, arrested the duo as key suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation.

 

After interrogation however, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

Part of the charges read:

Count I: That you Fidelis Ikwe ‘m and Onyiro Godspower , m, of No. 23, Ololeye Street, Opebi, Ikeja and others now at large sometime in the month of June 2024, in the Lagos Magisterial Distric did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

Count II: That you Fidelis Ikwe ‘m’ and Onyiro Godspower, m, and others now at large on the same date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial did dishonestly steal two Pump Action Guns with Licence No. R.765392 and P.921906 valued Five Hundred Thousand Naira 500, 000. 00K) property of one Chief Kenny Martins and thereby committed offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Court granted them bail with two sureties after their arraignment before the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi and ordered that the sureties must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
