Robbers Steal Sacred Cows From Oba’s Palace

Robbers may have desecrated the palace of an Oba in Lagos after they stormed the place and stole sacred cows including other properties early in the morning and escaped
.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Oba of Akesan’s palace, Akesan community in the outskirts of Lagos.

It was gathered that the bandits burgled the place at about 1am, gained entrance into the compound and stole three cows from the palace worth about N360,000 belonging to Rasheed Fagboun.
Not satisfied, the gang went ahead to steal 14 solar panels in the palace worth over N2m belonging to MTN including other properties and escaped.
At the break of dawn, it was discovered that all those items were no longer there and the matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division, who moved into action to investigate the theft.
In the course of investigation, two of the suspects, namely Michael Akran, 32 and Ajibola Segun, were arrested. They were later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Simon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendants pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, they were remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 16th October, 2019.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was a serious abomination for the men of the underworld to have stolen from the palace and that it attracts serious sanctions by the gods of the land.
