The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday were in Ajegunle area of the state to visit the family of late Mrs. Folashade Arogundade, a LASTMA official, who lost her life in the line of duty on Sunday.
In a tweet by the Governor he said, “We will do more to protect our own.
This evening, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and I were in Ajegunle to visit the family of late Mrs. Folasade Arogundade, a LASTMA officer who lost her life in the line of duty this past week.
Losing a loved one is never easy. May her soul rest in peace”.
It will be recalled that Arogundade Remilekun, a female officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), was on active duty in the Apapa area on Sunday morning when the ugly incident took place.
According to eye witness report, the late Remilekun, was trying to manage traffic around the area and did not notice the presence of a trailer that was trying to reverse. The driver of the trailer, who obviously might not be aware of her presence, crushed to her to death while reversing and she was performing her duty.
The late Remilekun was said to be from the Apapa Zone 36 Station Base of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).
