The Governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State,Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu paid a courtesy visit to Sports Writers Association of Nigeria,(SWAN) Lagos Chapter and promised to improve sports sector in the state if he is elected in the forthcoming Lagos State Governorship election.
Sanwo-Olu said this during the interactive session with sports journalists in Wednesday at the National Stadium,lagos.
The APC candidate who was accompanied by his running mate,Dr Babafemi Hamzat and campaign team said sports is one of his programmes he needs to focus on and urged the SWAN members to see him a leader who is passionate about sports.
Sanwo-Olu who refused to reveal his plans for sports disclosed that he would come to pay courtesy visit to SWAN members again to discuss his programmes on sports in the state.
“In my tenure, I will change the face of sports for better in Lagos. We want to do things differently and our government would show high level of seriousness in sports in the state.I am going to see SWAN chairman and discuss other areas we can also improve on sports before the elections,”he said.
Sanwo-Olu who was indebted to SWAN members for its contribution to the growth and development of sports in the state apologized for his absent two weeks ago. saying that his administration would continue to identify with sports writers in the state.
