School Proprietor Wants Lagos Govt To Assist Schools In Sports

Proprietress of Vicsum Private School, Chief Sunmisola Adefuye has urged  government  at all levels to give technical support so that both private and public schools will show more interest in sports.

Adefuyed disclosed this at the Vicsum Private School inter house sports competition held recently at the school premises.

The school owner said there are many schools that lack sporting arena and denies students from exercising their body. She said government should encourage school sports by allowing schools to use tovernment facilities with less charges.

“We can only encourage school sports if the government can allow the schools to use its facilities on regular basis. Why I am saying this is because some schools do not have sporting arena and such schools should approach government to use its facilities when it is needed. If government continues doing this, I think school sports would continue to strive in the state, “she said.

Commenting on the inter -house sports, Adefuye said she was impressed with the standard of participating students. She said all the houses have done well but the better house won.

In his own comment, School Director, Gbemisola Adefuye urged the parents and guardians to give their wards necessary support in area of sports and ensure that they exercise their bodies regularly.

While the school’s principal Agnes Agbo expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition and urged the students to combine academic and sports together if they want to make it in their chosen career.

Meanwhile, Blue House emerged as winner with 18 gold, 11 silver and 7 bronze. Green House came second with 10 gold,9 silver and12 bronze.

Yellow House occupied third position with 9 gold,15 silver and 7 bronze. Pink House were fourth position with 9 gold,10 silver and 16 bronze while Red house occupied fifth position with 5 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
