A 33-year old man, Mr. ThankGod Friday displayed his boxing prowess on a single lady, Ada Ibeh, and knocked off her teeth in a public brawl in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ile-ewe bus stop in Ejigbo, Lagos where they met and engaged in the public fight.
It was gathered that Mr. Friday saw and approached Ada at the bus stop probably to woo her. The victim was said to have behaved in a rude manner; she abused Friday publicly and accused him of not having any shame at all. The disagreement led to hot exchange of words and later degenerated to a public fight between them.
In the course of the fight, Mr. Friday was said to have rained blows on her mouth for abusing him. Blood covered her mouth as she lost her teeth and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital. The assault was then reported to the police at Ejigbo Division; Mr. Friday was arrested and detained at the police station.
It was gathered that the police had attempted to resolve their matter because it was bothered on relationship but the victim insisted that she wanted to go to court to get justice.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr. Friday was charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for assault by knocking off her teeth.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth did not oppose his bail.
Thus the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 27 June, 2018.
