The Ukpor-Umunoko-Nza-Ozubulu road (popularly called Afọr to Afọr), revalidated by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s government is ninety five percent complete.
A flag-off ceremony was organized near Mbazulike Amaechi’s house, Ukpor, where assurances were given that the remaining markings will be done.
According to the Governor, after his wide consultation, it was discovered that the road is a major one for the people of the area.
“I promised during the campaign that I will build this road and I later discovered that the road passed through the late Dara Mbazulike Amaechi’s house.”
“By the way, Tuesday is a night of tributes in his honour at the International Convention Center Awka and on Thursday, Nigeria will be in Anambra and will ply this road.”
“You will recall that we are only 10 months in office. The insecurity was at the height of it when we assumed office, but it is abating.
“Our youths, who are in the bushes should come out, emulate the late Amaechi who lived a good life.
“I believe that very soon the markings will be done on the road. Thank you for voting us. We won 16 out of 20 wards.
“We recruited 5000 teachers. We raised the salaries of civil servants by 10 percent and many more. We will still do more. We need people to work with. Support all APGA candidates to win”, the Governor added.
The Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, noted that revalidation of the road project was approved by the Anambra State Executive Council on 26th November, 2022.
The Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South Council Area, Mr. Ikenna Aniagboso, thanked the Governor for his development initiatives, saying that Nnewi South always get their fair share just as the Commissioner for Environment, Felix Odimegwu, added his voice that they will reciprocate the gesture, assuring of mobilizing massive support for the party in the coming general elections.
The APGA Senatorial Candidate for Nnewi South, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu, APGA candidate for Ekwusigo, Nnewi North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Clement Nwachukwu Elodimuo and the APGA candidate for Nnewi South Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Barrister Chieloka Henry Okoye, emphasized that the Governor’s campaign promises are fast becoming a reality, assuring of complementing the his efforts if they win.
