Somolu LG Boss Salawu Receives Best LG Chairman Award

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, has received another award as the Best Council Chairman in Lagos State.

The award was presented to the multiple award winning council Mayor from a media company, Mega Impact Magazine, as part of their activities to celebrate the 67th Birthday of APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the Asiwaju Mega Initiative anchor, Bola Olabisi, Local Government Chairmen are awarded according to sectors that the initiative panel polled. “Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu is the Best Local Government Chairman in the area of Security”, Olabisi said.

However, according to the award committee, “Hon. Salawu is a performing Chairman in health sector, environment, education, infrastructure but his administration was more fantastic in the area of Security”.

The findings of Asiwaju Mega Initiative may not be unrelated with the security patrols on the streets of Somolu and the 24hours activity of the Anti-Cultism Police squad which got a nod from the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu.

Moreover, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu is known to have a super cooperation with the Area Commander of Area H (Ogudu), ASP Dantanwaye Miller, and the DPOs covering Somolu jurisdiction, Pedro, Alade, Bariga (CMS) and Onipanu.

Recall that the Mayor of Somolu, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, received the award of Best Local Government Chairman in Nigeria at Abuja during the Nigerian Local Government Excellence Award (LOGEXA) April last year.

When asked about what prompted his numerous awards, the soft speaking Council Boss smiled and said “We did not do anything to win awards, we are just trying more and more to give our best to the people of Somolu”.
