A 36-year old secondary school teacher, Stephen Owolabi has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly defiling an 11 year old girl in the school premises in Egan area of Lagos.
The father of two reportedly tied the victim with his laptop cloth and forcefully took her to a corner where he forcefully removed her pant and penetrated.
The incident happened at Grand College located at Isuti Road in Egan in the outskirts of Lagos where the school is located.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the teacher had made advances but the girl refused. On the fateful day, he trailed her to the toilet where she went to ease herself, forcefully took her to a corner where he tied her mouth and penetrated her.
However, the whole matter got exposed after the dastardly act as the victim bled profusely. She then raised alarm which attracted both the students and the school management. She was rushed to the hospital while the teacher was handed over to the police at Igando Division.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that at the police station, Owolabi admitted that he had sex with her but he did not know she had not had such experience which caused the heavy bleeding.
He was brought before Ikeja Magistrates court where he was charged for defilement.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O.Osunsanmi granted Owolabi bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. The court ordered that one of the sureties must own a landed property within the jurisdiction of court.
Owolabi was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was further adjourned till 22 November, 2017.
The victim complained that she was still experiencing pains in her private. She narrated her experience in the hands of the teacher. She said her problem started when Owolabi approached her in school, told her he loved her and he will like to be sleeping with her without anybody knowing. When she refused she was surprised that the teacher will trail her to the toilet, forcefully penetrate her and injure her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS could not reach the school management as none of them was seen at the court when Owolabi was brought to court.
