WAMCO, Stakeholders Discuss Dairy Sector Regulation

Dairy leader FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria, has convened a high-level regulatory parley at the Chief Oludolapo Ibukun Akinkugbe Academy in Lagos, where key regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and senior management discussed compliance, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives to strengthen collaboration and business engagement.

In a statement issued to the media, the company’s Managing Director, Roger Adou, confirmed that discussions focused on fostering better working relationships, ensuring consumer protection, and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and product quality across the Nigerian dairy industry.

“Our deliberations underscored the need for continuous engagement with regulatory bodies in building a resilient and reliable ecosystem. The parley once again reinforced our commitment to excellence, transparency, and compliance. We recognize that success depends on strong partnerships with regulators and external stakeholders who share our vision of a safe, sustainable, and thriving dairy sector. By collaborating closely, we ensure that our products meet global quality standards while delivering the nutrition Nigerian families deserve and depend on” Adou said.

Also affirming the benefits of the parley, the company’s Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Ore Famurewa said, “The support and insights of regulatory authorities and external stakeholders are critical to our continued success. By fostering open communication and collaboration, we can deliver nutritious products that contribute meaningfully to the well-being of communities across Nigeria.”

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Adebukola Akanmu, added that “compliance is about shaping best practices through active engagement with regulators and stakeholders. Today’s discussions demonstrate the power of collective commitment to strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s dairy sector while creating an environment that supports innovation, growth, and consumer trust”.

The meeting concluded with a shared pledge to maintain collaborative efforts, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and leverage the expertise of all partners to drive innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development in Nigeria’s dairy industry.
