Princess Alamina Oloye (2nd left) collecting her nomination form
Princess Alamina Oloye, an aspirant under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has explained why she wants to contest for House of Representatives in Surulere Constituency II in Lagos State.
After she received her nomination form at the party secretariat in Mushin, Oloye told journalists that her coming out was to contribute her own quota to the legislative matters and use her wealth of experience to assist the needy and empower the youth and women in her constituency.
“I am ready to serve my constituency in the House of Representatives so that I can bring good governance and dividends of democracy to my constituency. I have discovered that there are challenges confronting our people which the government of the day has failed to ameliorate the suffering of the people. If I am elected, I will not only embark on physical projects, I will also focus more on youth and women so that our society would be crime free,” she said.
“I have drawn my programme which will carry everybody along, and I am using this medium to call the party members to elect me as one of the candidates during the party primary that would represent their interest in the House of Representatives,” she said.
Commenting on the chance of ADC in Lagos State, Ogidi Mohammed, Public Relation Officer said ADC is a political party that people can rely on. He said the party has positioned itself to win all the seats including governorship election in Lagos
He, however, commended Oloye who he described as the first female candidate that collected the nomination form under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and urged Lagosians to vote for ADC during the 2019 general elections.
“I have seen the brighter future in the party and I am impressed with the acceptance of the party by the Lagosians and Nigeria at large. APC is the moving train. The party has more than five millions members in Nigeria. I believe that the party is not a pushover and it will give other parties a run for their money in next year’s general elections,” he said.
He commended the ADC leadership in Lagos under Babatunde Daramola for their effort to ensure that the party has structures in all the 57 local governments in Lagos.
