Two women, Christiana D’ivoire Iyama and Margaret Ogwu, who were arrested for operating a baby factory, have confessed that they lure men to the place, offered them free sex with young girls kept there and when they impregnate the girls the babies are thereafter sold to the buyers at N400,000 each.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects made the revelation after Police operatives from the Ogun State Command stormed the factory located at No. 4, Ibrahim Famuyiwa Street, Agbado in Ifo LGA and arrested the suspects based on intelligence report.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed that the suspects were in custody undergoing interrogation over their conduct.
The principal suspect, Christiana Iyama, revealed that she had been in the business and had as well sold many babies before she was eventually arrested by the Police with the other suspect, Margaret, who was also a victim at the factory.
SP Oyeyemi stated that the suspects were arrested following information received by the Police at Agbado Division that the first suspect was operating a baby factory, where she had harboured girls and hired men to impregnate them.
He explained that upon being delivered of the babies, the woman would take possession and sell them at N400,000 each to her waiting buyers.
Oyeyemi said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that Margaret Ogwu was one of the girls harboured by Christiana D’ivoire, who employed the services of a man to impregnate her and collected the child on delivery, which she sold at the rate of N400,000 to one of her customers”.
The Police spokesman stated that Christiana Iyama further confessed that she has sold up to three children from different women to her customers, who were always ready to buy one any time any of the victims is delivered of a baby.
He said that the suspects will be charged before the Court for conspiracy and stealing but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
