Deji Beecroft
Team Manager of Messiah Football Club, Deji Beecroft has warned his players not to underrate their opponents, BYT Football Club of Lagos when both clash in the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Alakoso football pitch, Epe.
Beecroft commended the coaching crew and players for their commitment to the club in the last few years but urged them to win their first match in the Lagos FA Cup.
He revealed that the management has provided all the necessary things for the club to excel saying that it would be a catastrophe if the team crash out in the round of 32 of Lagos FA Cup.
“The coaching crew and players have no excuse if they fail to win their opponents. We are an amateur club and we have a good history of the Lagos FA Cup. Our first game is a must-win and they{players} should not underrate their opponents,” he said.
He admitted that their game against BYT FC would be tough saying that both teams are all amateur one club in Lagos. Beecroft said the calibre of players recruited in the club, he is optimistic that his team would come out victorious.
Commenting on this year’s WGB Lagos FA Cup, Beecroft expressed satisfaction with the media publicity and organization of the competition. He said the competition has been played in various places of Lagos urging the organisers to keep on the good work.
