Woman, 27, Docked For Slicing Sister, 14, With Razor Blade

A 27-year old woman, Kaosara Aluko, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury on her 14-year old sister by beating and slicing her body with a razor blade.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 18th April, 2025, at Mojoda Ibese Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the victim committed an undisclosed offence and the suspect used a razor blade to inflict injury on her hand. The victim was said to have bled profusely, which attracted the attention of their neighbours.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested by the Police and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over the alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Kaosara Aluko ‘f’, on the 18th day of April 2024 at Mojoda Ibese Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did indecently treat your sister, one Rokibat Olaigbe ‘f 14years by using a razor blade to cut her right hand and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 135 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Kaosara Aluko ‘f, on the same, date and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did assault your sister, one Rokibat Olaigbe ‘f 14years by beating her with a cane, which inflicted injuries on her body and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 172 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigerie, 2015.”
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A.Owolabi, granted her bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 29th May, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
