A 35-year old woman, Mrs. Titilayo Akapo, misfired as she challenged a 57-year old woman, Mrs. Sherifat Jimoh, hoping to overpower her in their compound in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mrs. Sherifat not minding her age displayed fighting skills and battered Mrs. Titilayo despite the fact that she was younger and she was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The incident happened at Osunba compound in Igando area of Lagos where they resided.

Following the serious assault on the victim, the police at Igando Division has arrested Sherifat and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrates court.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that both the victim and the defendant resided in the same compound and had constant quarrels in the compound over domestic matters. It was learnt that whenever Sherifat raised her voice over common matters in the compound, Titilayo will challenge her and threaten to beat her up until the day the incident took place.

As usual, they had a disagreement and the victim challenged Sherifat but she decided to teach her a lesson to earn respect from her from that day. She reportedly grabbed Titilayo, threw her on the ground and rained blows on her face. Titilayo sustained injuries, bled, and was rushed to a hospital.

The matter was reported to the police at Igando Division and Sherifat was arrested. She was later charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court.
She pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector G Simon, did not oppose her being granted bail.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5th September, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the 57-year old woman, Mrs. Sherifat, decided to teach Titilayo a lesson for her to know that they were not mates and also to be free from her insults.
When Titilayo was contacted, she told P.M.EXPRESS that she was still surprised about what happened as she did not expect to be battered without hitting back.
