Patriarch, Nmanyere Ugo Of Okija Town Goes home

It was a state of mix feelings for the indigenes of the Okija community in Anambra State as they prepare to lay to rest one of their illustrious sons, Chief Pa  Samuel Chukwuji Ngemenihe, with the title,  Nmanyere Ugo 1 of Okija, who passed on recently.

The patriarch died peacefully at the age of 94 years after a brief age related illness in his home at Uhuobo (Ohukabia) in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports the community regretted that he passed on but on the other hand were happy for his life of remarkable impart and landmark contributions to the progress and development of the community.
According to the residents, Pa Ngemenihe represented hard work, dedication and was an epitome of achievements which signified that there was reward in honesty and hard work as he had imparted on the members of the community.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that it was those virtues that made the community to give him the title – Nmanyere Ugo I of Okija, having distinguished himself.

The burial ceremonies will commence from 23rd August, 2018, with the wake at his compound in Uhuobo (Ohukabia) in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State. The wake will be followed by service of songs and the burial service at both his compound and St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Ohukabia, Okija, Ihiala LGA in Anambra State before the interment.

Pa Nmanyere Ugo was married, had many children, grand and great grand children across the world. One of his sons, Prince and Apostle Paul Chukwuji, told P.M.EXPRESS that it was painful that they lost their father but that they find consolation in the fact that he imparted positive things to both his family and the entire community. He said that his father will also be remembered for his hard work, dedication to God and the exemplary life which he imparted and had enabled his children to become successful in their chosen professions.
Apostle Paul noted that the family and the entire community will surely miss him for his forthrightness and adjudication of disputes without fear or favour in the interest of justice and equity. He further said that the children will continue to imbibe those legacies and virtues he imparted on them and use it for the betterment of their community and the society at large.
