Woman Docked For Bathing Victim With Hot Oil During Public Brawl

A woman, Aisha Abubakar, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly pouring hot oil on one Nasiru Bello and inflicting injury all over his body during a public brawl. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 31st January, 2026, at 3, Araromi Arigbanla Street, Orile Agege area of Lagos, where they reside.

 

The cause of the public brawl was not disclosed by the Police. But it was alleged that the suspect had a disagreement with the victim and in the process, she carried the hot oil and poured it on him, which caused serious injury on the victim’s hand, back and head.

 

The victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct against the victim.

 

After thorough interrogation,  the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Aisha Abubakar ‘m’ on the 31st January, 2026, at about 0100hrs at Araromi Arigbanla Street, Orile Agage, in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did unlawfully pour hot oil on Nasiru Bello all over his body, which inflicted injury on the head, back and hand, which endangered his life and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 230 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Mr Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
