Woman Docked For Pouring Hot Soup On Rival Neighbour’s Body During Squabble

A 36-year old woman, Gladys Izuka, has been arrested for allegedly pouring a hot pot of soup on her rival neighbour, Mrs. Akudo Ibeh, and inflicting serious injuries on her body during a squabble.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Larry Crescent, Tedi in Ojo Local Government area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect, Gladys, had a disagreement with the victim over an undisclosed matter, which led to hot exchange of words and later degenerated to a squabble. And in the process, Gladys got inside, carried the pot of the soup and poured on the victim. She was seriously injured and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where she is receiving treatment while the matter was reported at the Police Division in the area.
The suspect was then arrested and transferred to the SCID of the State Command, Yaba, for further interrogation over her conduct.
During interrogation at the SCID, she reportedly failed to disclose what happened, thus the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Yaba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Olatubosun  granted her bail in the sum of N10,000 with conditions in like sum and ordered her remand in correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 17th September, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect her bail conditions.
