Woman Who Owns Orphanage Home Where Babies Were Sold Now In Prison

A 40-year-old housewife, Mrs Binta Adebayo, who operated an illegal orphanage home where pregnant women delivered their babies and the babies sold to buyers as goods, has been remanded in prison custody in Lagos.

She was arrested and charged before a Lagos court who ordered her to be remanded in prison custody.

P.M.EXPRESS reported that Mrs Binta Adebayo operated the orphanage home known as Holy Child located at Sadiq street in Igando area of Lagos where she uses her resident as the orphanage home for young pregnant women for child trafficking.

However, the information got to the police who stormed the place and arrested Binta and her husband, ADEBAYO. They wede detained at the Lagos State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.

The police also rescued three pregnant victims, Precious Emmanuel, 27 Onome Opute, 25 and 19-year-old Favour Osikweneh.

They were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal and both Mrs Binta and the victims confessed that Binta had concluded arrangement for buyers after they might have delivered their babies.

However, the plans did not work as the police rounded them up and foiled all their plans.

It was gathered that the husband of Binta was exonerated and Mrs Binta was only charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.

She pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi granted Binta bail in the sum of N1,000,000.00 with two sureties in the like sum.

She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 4 May 2018.
