It was a moment of joy at Umuifite village in Agulu, Anaocha LGA, when the zonal project team of Senator Uche Ekwunife inspected one of the standard 3-Bedroom bungalows built for the less privileged by the federal lawmaker.

The edifice which has been completed was undergoing furnishing and was among the projects attracted by the Senator to give shelter and succour to the downtrodden in the Senatorial District.

Expressing her profound gratitude, the beneficiary of the house project, Mrs. Mercy Emeonye thanked God Almighty for the gift of Ekwunife. She described Senator Ekwunife as a woman with a compassionate heart who has wiped away her tears, suffering and sorrow. Mrs. Emeonye narrated how the death of her late husband had made life difficult for her.

The widow who could not contain her tears of joy said she had already lost hope from having an abode, but the distinguished Senator came to her rescue by giving her a shelter through the Anaocha LGA Widows Association, being coordinated by Mrs. Fidelia Anikwata.

“Praying to God to keep protecting and sustaining Senator Ekwunife has been my daily routine. Iyom has left an indelible mark in my heart. For her to have remembered me, God Almighty will always remember her. Her quest to become the next Governor of the state will come to reality”, the beneficiary said.

The women leader promised Ekwunife that the women of the town will always support her.

Mrs. Fidelia Anikwata, the coordinator Anaocha widows association, said she was very happy to be used by God to facilitate the project for the beneficiary. She prayed God to continue to bless the Senator.
