The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos East Senatorial District, has thrown its weight behind the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, endorsing him for a second term.

At a gathering tagged “Lagos East Senatorial District General Assembly”, held at the Recreation Ground in Epe, leaders of the APC present at the event, told the gathering that Ambode has performed beyond the expectations of all and sundry, and therefore deserves another term just like his predecessors.

One of the leaders from the District, Alhaji Shakirudeen Seriki popularly referred to as Bamu, who addressed the gathering, stated that the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gave the people of Lagos East Senatorial District an opportunity and that led to the emergence of Governor Ambode.

“When Ambode came on board, a lot of people never believed that he will perform but the rest is history today. The governor’s performance has surpassed the expectations of many people and I am sure everyone can attest to what I am saying. For all this, Ambode deserves another term just like those who have served before him,” Seriki said.

When accosted by some journalists at the gathering, member representing Epe Constituency II, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, who expressed delight at what Governor Ambode has done in the last two and half years, appealed to residents of the state to support the second term ambition of the Governor when the time comes.

Olulade, who applauded Ambode for touching every sector of the state ranging from health, infrastructural development, education, trasnsport, the environment, amongst others, said Ambode just like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola, who served the state meritoriously for two terms, deserves another term to accomplish his plans for the state.

“Ambode has done so well in every sector and I am sure he still has a lot to do for the state. He has impressed many people and the best way we can keep enjoying what we are enjoying now is to re-elect the governor for a second term,” Olulade stated.

Among those present at the gathering were, Hon. Bayo Osinowo, Dr. Tola Kasali, Chief Lanre Razak, Alhaji Bode Oyedele, Alhaji Wasiu Odeyemi, Mr. Dele Onabokun, Mr Kaoli Olusanya, Alhaja Ramotallai Bankole, Members of the National Assembly, members of the State House of Assembly,  members of the  state Exco from the senatorial district, Local Government Chairmen and Councillors, LGA chairmen, Mr Hakeem Sulaimon Oris, Hon Adebanjo Johnbul, Hon Lanre Odubote, Chief Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, Alhaji Wale Mogaji,  Alhaji  Fatai Olukoga amongst other leaders.
