2 Men Arrested For Stealing 3 Rams

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two men, Kuwan Babatunde, 42 and Ismaiheel Aina, 45, for allegedly stealing three rams to sell for the Sallah celebration. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ikola Command Road before Ipaja bridge, Lagos, where the owner, Agboola Wasiu, kept the rams.
However, while they struggled to escape with the rams, which put up some resistance, they were caught by some residents who knew the owner of the rams and raised alarm.
They were rounded up and the Police at Meiran Division were contacted. The suspects were arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
While being interrogated by the Police, they confessed that they wanted to steal the rams to sell for the Sallah celebration before they were caught.
The Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 11th September, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional facility at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
