It appears that there is no hiding place for armed robbers following the security measures put in place by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that two armed robbers lodged in a popular hotel with a short gun and ammunition, which they had hoped to use for operation in State.

However, following the Police intelligence mechanism put in place by the operatives at Ejigbo Division led by CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, the suspects identified as Uche Madu, 22 and Chukwudi Odoh, 21, were caught.

It was gathered that the Police and community relations worked as the suspects lodged in the hotel preparing to go for robbery operations before the DPO was contacted and she immediately sent her officers to the place.

They were promptly arrested and the gun including live ammunition was recovered as exhibits. The arrest of the suspects attracted the attention of some residents in the area, who commended the Police and members of the local vigilante for making it possible to foil their operation that night.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited the Ejigbo Division where the suspects were detained, sources at the Police Station said that they have been transferred to the FSARS in Ikeja for further investigation.

The DPO was not around for comments when our reporter visited the Police Station as was she was said to have gone to the Police Command at Ikeja to meet with the CP. It was not certain if it was in connection with the suspects or the building collapse that took place in Ejigbo at the weekend.

However, the suspects risk several years of imprisonment if the FSARS investigation confirms them as armed robbers and they are charged before the Court for the alleged offence.
