Two teenagers, Segun Adebiyi and Segun Solomon, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling a 10-year old girl inside uncompleted school building.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between April and May, 2024, on Temidire Street, Ayobo area of Lagos.
The matter got exposed after the victim revealed what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division. The operatives then arrested the suspect and transferred him to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.
While Adebiyi was alleged to have penetrated the victim, the second suspect, Solomon, allegedly used his finger to penetrate her.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
