2019: APGA Rules Out Alliance With Any Political Party

Posted on December 21, 2018

The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Political Matters, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye and the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in the Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Titus Anigbogu, say the party will not enter into alliance with any other political party before the February sixteenth presidential election in 2019.

They stated this while featuring in the latest edition of ABS News and Current Affairs Radio and television programme FACE THE PRESS in Awka.

According to them, APGA will only consider an accord with other political parties if no clear winner emerged after the Presidential election and a run-off became absolutely necessary.

Chief Obi-Okoye and Chief Titus Anigbogu expressed optimism that APGA will win convincingly in the Governorship elections in Abia, Imo, Zamfara and Nasarawa States in addition to making great impacts in Benue, Taraba and other States in the Middle Belt and Southern Region.

They noted that signing into law of a new electoral act by President Muhammadu Buhari less than three months to the general elections might cause confusion and vitiate the primary elections already conducted by political parties based on the existing electoral act.

Chief Obi-Okoye and Anigbogu also explained that the ongoing reconciliation efforts with aggrieved party faithful over the outcome of the recent APGA primaries is yielding positive results.
