In line with her vision towards offering unmatched, pragmatic and purposeful representation, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has urged constituents to come onboard to ensure consolidation and continuity of more achievements in the National Assembly, saying that she is hungry to do more for humanity.

Speaking on Friday, April 22, during the commissioning of Umunwokike Road, Umuajana village, Ebenebe, Awka North LGA, Ekwunife stated that the avalanche of endorsement by stakeholders and communities since her formal declaration to seek re-election shows that her representation has a direct bearing on the people.

While commending the Umunwokike family under the chairmanship of Barr. Okey Onyibor for constructing the road, the federal lawmaker acknowledged that the project would improve transport connectivity and standards of living in the area.

“There would not be any development without good road networks. What is happening here today shows that the community is blessed with human capital. While I recognise the Traditional Ruler of Ebenebe, Igwe Chris Emeka Nnaegbuna for his leadership and sacrifices, I wish to commend the Umunwokike family for constructing this important project. With this project, the family has entrenched their name in the hearts of the people of the community”, Ekwunife said.

Earlier, the Chairman of Umunwokike family, Barr Onyibor expressed that Ebenebe is delighted to have Ekwunife commission the project despite the very short notice, noting that the community is one of the political strongholds of the Federal lawmaker. According to him, the massive turnout at the event is because of the love and loyalty the people of the community have for the Senator.

The President General of the community, Mr. Paul Nnatuanya and other stakeholders who spoke lauded Ekwunife’s efforts in delivering dividends of democracy to constituents.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of award to the Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation in recognition of her service to humanity. Also was a presentation of a cow, tubers of yam and other items in appreciation of the good work the lawmaker is doing in the community.
