3 Sweet Sensation Eatery Staff Docked Over Theft Of N6m Company Sale

Three members of staff of popular eatery company, known as Sweet Sensation, have been arrested over the alleged theft of company’s money to the tune of N6m made from sales in one of their outlets in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the staff involved included the company’s cashier, Oluwatosin Owa, 26 and two frontline officers, Esther Ogoke, 35 and Juliet Madueke, 25.
The incident happened at the Sweet Sensation outlet at LASUTH, Ikeja area of Lagos, where they were employed as the company’s workers.
According to the Police sources, the suspects landed into trouble after the management conducted internal audit and discovered that such huge sum of money was stolen and they were handed over to the Police at Area F Command in Ikeja for investigation.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned in Court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Felicia Okwori, told the Court that the defendants committed the offence on 2nd August, 2022, at the outlet from the proceeds of their sales within three years they were employed as workers in the company and the theft was  discovered when the company’s accounts were audited.
The prosecutor, told Court that the offence the defendants allegedly committed contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 and since they pleaded not guilty, the Court should give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. H.B. Mogaji, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 5th October, 2022, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
