If watching Africa Magic’s Slum King has not been part of your to-do list for the past two Sundays, then you have been missing out big time! The newly premiered Africa Magic original series has been a talk-of-town among lovers of crime thrillers.

 

With just two episodes aired so far, the plot for Slum King is starting to pick up and there is no better time to join the train of viewers currently spellbound by the prolific acting, interesting storyline and quality production offered by the Slum King.

Intriguing Storyline

 

A young man, Edafe ‘Maje’ Umukore, haunted by the trauma of losing his family in an armed robbery incident desperately seeks redemption following his stint in prison. However, his ambition to become the highly revered Slum King, a title accorded the highest ranking tout in his community steers him on a path filled with murder, gang wars, drugs and many more! Every episode brings intense suspense and drama.

 

Prolific Character Development

 

Characters bring a good story to life and the writers of Slum King did justice with the characters. With the main character, Edafe ‘Maje’ Umukoro, played by Tobi Bakre, you will get to enjoy the gradual, but steady transformation of Edafe from an introverted teenager to a brutal gangster fuelled by ambition. This and many other characters are set to foster your affection for this series.

 

Action thrillers

 

If karate-styled fighting scenes excite you, then you are set for a weekly dose of perfectly executed action scenes. Centred around the crime-filled life of a fictional slum, every episode is set to heighten and deliver on your expectation for good action scenes.

Following his emergence as the Best Actor at the 9th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for his role in Brotherhood, Tobi Bakre’s stock as a prolific actor continues to rise and he is poised to deliver another masterpiece in Slum King. He will be joined by AMVCA winning duo, Teniola Aladese and Jidekene Achufusi, Tinsel star, Gideon Okeke, Gangs of Lagos star, Olarotimi Fakunle among some other of your Nollywood favourites.
