9 Arrested For Raping Girl, 13, Infesting Her With HIV

It looked like double jeopardy for a 13-year old girl, who was allegedly defiled by 9 suspects and infested her with HIV in the process.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Kwadage village, Mai’adua LGA, Katsina State, where they reside.

The suspects have been arrested by Police operatives from Katsina Command and they are currently undergoing interrogation over the dastardly act.

The Police stated that on 6th November, 2020, the Command succeeded in arresting nine (9) serial rapists that raped a 13-year old girl.  The fact of the case was that at about 14:20hrs, one Mu’azu Yakubu, m, aged 40years of Kwadage village, Mai’adua LGA of Katsina State, reported at Mai’adua Division that at different dates and time the following persons:

Ya’u Miko, 40

Ta;ade Nati, 35

Saminu Hashimu, 25

Mannir Yunusa, 35

Danladi Idi, 30

Rabi’u Abdu, 40

Burhani Malam Sanda, 30

Isiya Yunusa, 30 and 

Musa Haru, 60 had raped the girl.

This was disclosed by the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, on behalf of Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba, at a press briefing held on 18th November, 2020 at the Command headquarters, Katsina.

 The CP confirmed that the suspects were in Police custody undergoing investigation for their conduct stating how the suspects allegedly committed the act.
He said that the suspects lured the victim of the same address, and had an unlawful carnal knowledge her. In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offence.

He said that both the girl and the suspects were taken to Comprehensive Health Centre, Maiadua, for medical examination, which showed that both tested positive for H.I.V. which the victim may have contracted during the act.

The Police said that investigation is ongoing and the suspects may likely be charged before the Court.

The suspects risk several years of imprisonment if the Police find them culpable and charge them before the Court for the alleged offence
