Comedian Short Family Wins Debut Ibile Comedy Challenge

Fast rising comedian, Short Family has emerged the winner of the debut edition of Ibile Comedy Challenge.
The funny dude beat other finalists at the glittering event tagged ‘Lagos Laughs’ held Sunday at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
Visibly-excited Short family wowed the crowd at the challenge who decided which of the finalists of the Ibile Comedy Challenge made it to the next round.
He was presented with his N1 million prize cheque by some members of Lagos State Excos.
Present at the laughter night was by the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule.
Also present were Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde; Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare and former Ghanaian president, Dr. John Mahamas among others.
Lagos Laughs, which is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lagos State (Lagos@50) and commemorate World Laughter Day 2017, was also organised to celebrate ’50 Outstanding Lagos-based Comedians’.
The event was also designed to feature finalists from the IBILE Comedy Challenge, a competition to discover and develop new talents in the art of performance comedy.
Shortfamily, the new comedy challenge king was also the 1st runner up at AliBaba Spontaneity.
The show featured 50 outstanding Lagos based comedians showcasing their skills and giving the audience a time of their lives.
Nigerian comedy greats including Ali Baba, Basketmouth, Gbenga Adeyinka and Teju Babyface were joined by Nollywood star, Funke Akindele and a host of others to thrill guests.
The highlights of the night was the performances of a visually-impaired comedian, Kelly Egbere a.k.a. Kelly Blind, who cracked many ribs with his joke.
Also the combo of Baba Suwe; Saka; Ijebu; Aluwe and Okunnu delivered a priceless moment with their comedy skit.
