Massive Support For AFCON, Lagos Fans Troop Out To Watch Live Matches At Viewing Centres
Viewing centres across 10 different locations in Lagos State recorded massive attendance as fans in the metropolitan city of Lagos watched live quarter-final games of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon at the weekend.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that from Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island, Abesan playground at Abesan, Ipaja, Ajeromi Central Nursery & Primary School, Ajegunle, Bishop Aggrey Youth Centre, Mushin, Epe Recreation Centre, Badagry Grammar School, Badagry, Agege Stadium, Agege, Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Yaba and Italewa in Ikorodu, the turnout at these centres was massive as Lagosians indeed showed their passion for the round leather game despite the fact that the country’s senior team, the Super Eagles are no longer in the tournament.
The setting up of the viewing centres was at the instance of the sports-loving governor of the state, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who made these happened through the Lagos State Sports Commission.
As usual, P.M. EXPRESS brings photos from some of these centres courtesy of the Public Affairs Unit of the Lagos State Sports Commission.
