Skales Shuts Down Lagos During Album Listening Party At Industry Nite

Baseline Records frontman Skales on Wednesday May 24 held a listening party at Industry Nite for his sophomore album ‘The Never Say Never Guy’ which is scheduled for release on Democracy Day, May 29, 2017.

The night witnessed a slew of attendees who came out to show the singer some love and support, with many narrating stories of how Skales’ legacy has been a great source of inspiration to them in numerous ways.

Skales graced the stage in a grand style, to which the crowd yelled excitedly.

The singer went on to perform a number of songs off the album, including a fast-paced techno afro-pop song titled ‘Booty Language’ featuring Sarkodie, ‘Gbefun one time’ featuring Burna Boy, ‘Mama’, among others.

Other features on the album were revealed, with the singer announcing Lil Kesh, Wande Coal, PJ Morton of Maroon 5, Phyno, among others as esteemed guest features fans should be on the look out for.

The afro-pop star later took fans down memory lane, performing some of his earliest hits since emergence on the music scene including ‘Mukulu’, ‘Always’, ‘Shake Body’, ‘I Am for Real’ and a few others before wrapping up the night with one of his most recent smash hits ‘Temper’ featuring his frequent collaborator and friend Burna Boy.

The singer gave a heart-warming speech before exiting the stage.

He thanked everyone in the building for their support and spoke on his journey since the release of his debut album down to the upcoming sophomore ‘The Never Say Never Guy’.

Other stars in attendance include rapper Falz, Tunde Ednut, Kris Beat, Jaywon and several others.

‘The Never Say Never Guy’ will be a direct follow-up to Skales’ 2015 ‘Man of the Year’ debut – an album he explained had taken him two long years to perfect.
