NLO: Messiah, FC Robo Others Set For Battle In Lagos

Messiah Football Club and FC Robo Warrior of Mushin as well as other teams are fully ready ahead of Nationwide League One, NLO which begins on Wednesday in Lagos. More than twenty teams in Lagos are taking part in the much awaited league.

The organizers have fixed Smart City and Gbagada FC as official opening match scheduled to hold this afternoon at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Most of the coaches who spoke to our correspondent were confident about their team’s preparation, while some are rounding off to put finishing touch in readiness for the league.

 Speaking about his team’s preparedness, head coach of Messiah, Tunde Olayinka expressed confidence in his team. He boasted that his players are in good frame of mind and ready to go all out for victory in their first match.

“We are ready for the league. We have no excuse to fail in our first game. The players are fit and mentally ready for their opening match. Aside this, the players are well motivated to excel in the league and we are looking forward to our first on Thursday,” he said.

In his own comment, FC Robo Warrior coach, Kazeem Alabi said his players are ready for their opening match boasting that he could not afford to lose their first match at their home ground.

Alabi said  he was quite impressed with the friendly matches they played recently noted that FC Robo  are not coming to the league as jamboree or sightseeing rather to give all their opponents a run for their money.

“The camp is bubbling because all the players are fit for the league. I am happy that my players are playing to my instruction which really reflected on our friendly matches we played recently so we are looking forward to our first game against our opponents on Thursday,” he said.

Buruj is another NLO club and the Ikorodu club is paraded young players who are hungry for success. Buruj have engaged in series of friendly matches and they are ready to face Racine FC on Friday.

In the week one fixtures released by the organizers, FC Robo host Synergy on Thursday at Legacy pitch, Messiah welcome Magic Stars Stars  at Alade sports Centre, Ipaja as Zenith Emperor would host Joy Cometh at Nitel Pitch, Oshodi.

On Friday, Lekki United would be a guest to Broad City at Legacy by 4p, while AS Racine host Buruj at Legacy pitch by 12pm.as Jossy FC welcome Tradesports on Saturday at Legacy pitch in week one of the league.
