A middle-aged mother of five, Mrs Victoria Uwachukwu who allegedly sold four of her five children has implicated a popular legal practitioner over his alleged role in the transaction which yielded huge sums of money for him.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the lawyer, (name withheld) who is a prominent member of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ikeja branch reportedly signed the agreement papers for the sale of those children before they were handed over to the buyers by their mother.

It was learnt that for his efforts and services, the lawyer allegedly collected 10 percent of the money each of those kids were sold both from the buyers and the mother.

Our correspondent gathered that the lawyer was moved by the huge commission he made from those transactions thus he encouraged the woman to sell those kids remaining only one without her husband’s knowledge and permission.

Following the revelation, the police went after the lawyer but he escaped arrest and said to be on the run now.

P.M.EXPRESS had reported that the woman was arrested and detained at Area M Command, Idimu for allegedly selling four out of her children to different buyers as ‘goods’ without the knowledge of her husband in Lagos.

Her arrested followed a petition by her husband to the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Austines Akika.

Police sources said the husband was tipped of the illicit transaction by one of their neighbours.

The man, who rented an apartment in Idimu area of Alimosho local government, was working outside Lagos, where he stays during the week and only returns home weekend or monthly.

When he confronted his wife about the whereabouts of their children, the woman lied to her husband that she took them to one of her relations and when he went to look for the children at the supposedly relation, the kids were not there until he challenged her.

Thus, the husband reported to the police and she was arrested and detained at the Command Cell.

She was said to have already confessed to the police while efforts were already being made to rescue the children and arrest the buyers.
