Man, 39, Lands In Police Net Over S*x With Lady, 21

A 39-year old man, Fasogbon Baba tunde, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly engaged a 21-year old lady in a sex romp. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Block 34, Plot 24, Opebi area of Ikeja, Lagos, where the suspect, Babatunde, lured the victim to. 

The suspect was alleged to have had sex with the lady without her consent. She then went to the Police and reported that she was raped because she did not consent to it. 

However, the Police did not state how she was raped but arrested Babatunde and transferred him to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the alleged rape.

At the Gender Section, the suspect admitted to have slept with her but with her consent before she went home. The lady insisted that she was raped and demanded for his prosecution. 

After interrogation, the Police found the suspect culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court. 

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the offence was a capital offence, which even attracts life imprisonment. 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it down to the DPP. 

The matter was adjourned till 17th May, 2022, for mention for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
