This may not be the best of times for Divisional Police Officer attached to Ayobo Division of the Lagos State Command, CSP  Musender Orobiyi, following the attack he received while performing his lawful duty in the area.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that CSP Orobiyi got attack when he went with some officers including another victim of the assault, Inspector Momodu Lafeef, to Mechanic village, Amule unit in Ayobo, to perform their official duty.

The Police were said to have gathered intelligence over activities in the mechanic village and went there to perform their normal duty.
When they arrived, they were reportedly rounded up and asked why they must come to village to perform their duty. Before they would explain, those people had already mobilized and attacked them.

During the attack, they used some weapons and broke the heads of the DPO and Inspector Lateef. Both were said to have bled profusely and were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

Two of the suspects behind the attack, Rafiu Abdulraman, 25 and Monday Sunday, 35 were later arrested while others are still at large.

The Police subsequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and serious assault on the Police Officers.

When they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Ajayi Emmanuel, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
