Major Upset In Kwara As Mustapha Picks APC Ticket Ahead of Oloriegbe

There has been a major upset in Kwara State with Mallam Saliu Mustapha defeating the incumbent Senator for Kwara Central, Dr. Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

Mustapha who is also the Turaki of Ilorin polled 168 votes with his closest challenger Yahaya Seriki getting 67 votes.

Senator Oloriegbe who is the chairman, Senate committee on health got 15 votes to come distant third.

In a message on his Twitter handle Sunday morning, Mustapha thanks all.

“We crossed the Rubicon on a memorable night, the first lap towards representing my beloved constituency in the National Assembly as Senator-elect. I am grateful to delegates for placing their trust in me to carry our party’s flag at the 2023 general election.

“Special thanks to party members, faithfuls, and loyalists from Ilorin East, Ilorin West, Ilorin South, and Asa who took the time to attend consultations and engagements.”
