Woman Dumps “Lazy & Jobless” Husband After 15 Years Of Marriage

A business woman, Mrs.Tawakalitu Sanusi, has filed a suit before the Court demanding for the dissolution of her 15-year old “miserable marriage” to her husband, Olaide, because citing him as being lazy and jobless. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embattled woman, Mrs.Tawakalitu, went to Mapo  Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State and file the suit against her estranged husband, Olaide, claiming that she was tired of the marriage and wanted to move on with her life.
She also told the Court that she was frustrated by her husband’s alleged ineptitude when he barred her from having access to their three children. And because of his laziness and stubbornness, Olaide turned down all available job opportunities provided by her father due to his pride.
“My lord, after he lost his white collar job, I pleaded with him many times to learn a trade or get a lesser job, but he was only interested in an office work but could not get and he was jobless.”
“For instance, I got him a security job at the University College Hospital (UCH), but he told me that he cannot withstand staying awake at night and he rejected the job and stays at home doing nothing.”
“My father also got him a job as a driver, but Olaide bluntly refused. When I attempted to travel to Saudi Arabia to work as a domestic, so that I will provide for him and the children, he frustrated the plan.”
“In order to keep the home going, I travelled to Abuja and Lagos to hustle and I regularly send money to my husband and the children. After all the efforts, he has now denied me access to the children and threatened to kill me if I ever got to his house to see the children again,” she alleged.
However, Olaide denied some of the allegations leveled against him and stated that his embattled wife caused the break of their marriage because of her behaviour towards him.
“My lord, my wife constantly accuses me of bringing bad luck to her. When she got a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia, I supported her with N100,000. She kept me in the dark, believing that I will bring her misfortune. She decided on her own that she was no longer interested in the marriage when she filed this suit,” Olaide said.
Therefore, Olaide prayed the Court that since she was the person that asked for the dissolution of the marriage, the Court should graciously grant him custody of the three children.
After the couple had testified, the Court’s President, Mrs. S.M.Akintayo, adjourned the matter until 30th September, 2022, for judgment and advised the petitioner and the respondent to maintain peace pending the judgment of the Court.
