Imo: President Buhari’s Visit, A Blessing To Imo And Ndimo
OGU BUNDU NWADIKE, M.A

It’s no longer news that the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, will be visiting Imo State on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
An official statement of the Government of Imo State delivered by Hon. Declan Emelumba, Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, via a press conference in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Saturday, September 10, 2022 reconfirmed the visit by the President.
What is news is that some Imolites, particularly the opposition cult in the State are feigning oblivious of the benefits and ad of the latest coming of the president to the State.
But to the enlightened discerning, well-meaning people, the second personal visit to Imo State by President Buhari is more of a blessing than a curse as the unscrupulous, unpatriotic and nepostic opposition bigots in the State have been postulating.
For many salient reasons, the president’s visit is loaded with abundant blessings for Imo State and Imo people.
First, it’s a vote of confidence by the president and the Federal Republic of Nigeria that Imo State is safe, secure and peaceful.

Mr. President wouldn’t be visiting an unsafe, insecure State twice in 12 calendar months. Hence, his visits have been interpreted positively as a blessing of the State and the people with safety, security and peace.
Recall that in Q1 of 2021, when the opposition sponsored strange insecurity in the State took a worrisome dimension, Governor Uzodimma ran to the Presidency in Aso Rock to give sitrep to his principal, the president.
The result was the approval by the president for federal troops to be released to Imo State to quell the insecurity in the State and save the lives and property of the Nigerian citizens in the State.
Today, Imo State is so safe, secure and peaceful that not only will Mr. President be landing at Sam Mbakwe Airport for the record second time in one year, but at a time the entire Catholic Bishops of Nigeria converged in the State for their conference.
In some parlance, it’s said that safety, security and peace in the society is the greatest benefit of the citizens from both God and the government to the citizens.
We hear about health is wealth. But even in the clinical condition of good health and sound, it requires safety, security and peace in the society for health to be seen as wealth.
Without safety, security and peace in the society, all wealth are terminally diseased and sick. Without safety, security and peace in the society, health is mendicant, poor and needy!
Another way that president’s visit is a blessing to Ndimo and other Nigerians that have the need to be in the State permanently or occasionally is that the two signature road projects that the president will be commissioning are federal roads, which Mr. President and the Federal Government of Nigeria graciously granted the leave for the governor to construct for the road traffic and transport enjoyment of the people.
Before the roads, Orlu-Owerri Road and Okigwe-Owerri Road were taken up for construction, they were deaths traps that caused the avoidable losses of lives of some people in the State.
But Mr. President will be coming to commission the two roads that are wonderful and fantastic, when compared with their previous terribly decomposed, dilapidated conditions.
The two federal roads are blessings to the people of Imo State because they’re available for the use of everybody in the State at every point in time.
Above all, there are some States of the federation that are yet to enjoy a presidential visit by President Buhari. But Imo State has been visited two times by the President of Nigeria. In fact, the president will be visiting Imo State three times, because earlier he visited the State virtually.
Ndimo that mean well for the State have been rejoicing and dancing _Bongo_ music, composing welcome songs, and waxing songs of praises for the Nigerian president and the State governor.
For they’re jolly good fellows! To God be the glory!
By God’s grace, Imo State is being rehabilitated, reconstructed and recovered by Governor Uzodimma!
