A 39-year old man, ThankGod Umuna, has been arrested in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 15-year old girl and engaged her in sex romp having sucked her breasts, getting her confused and she was unable to resist the act.
PMEXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ogunjobi Street, Iyana Ipaja area of Aboru, Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect lured the girl into his apartment and used words of mouth to confuse her before he then sucked her breasts, which got her more confused and he engaged her in the act.
However, the girl later regained her senses and raised alarm claiming that the suspect, Umuna, raped her because she never consented to the act and informed her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and Umuna was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed that he actually slept with her but with her consent, which the girl denied. The Police then found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
