Man, 51, Lands In Trouble For Engaging 7-Year Old Girl In S*x

A 51-year old man, Amidu Fatai, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 7-year old girl in sex romp and he was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Okun in Ajah town, Ogombo Ajah area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect lured the little girl to his apartment, engaged her in the act before it got exposed and the victim confessed while revealing what he did to her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. The suspect, Fatai, was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the act.
After thorough interrogation by Police operatives at the Gender Section, he was found culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the alleged offence is punishable by life imprisonment.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 19th October, 2022, for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP’s report finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
