#EndSARS In Retrospect: No Monuments To The “Slain” 2 Years After

From the onset, the #EndSARS protestations looked well organized, well articulated and unmistakably focused.  So errors of the type I am about to point out is not something they will make.
Passing through Lekki today from the first gate, you’d see the ghostly nature of the tollplazas. The power of the #EndSARS protestation still speaks there till date. But one thing is conspicuously missing there, a monument, yeay a slab with names of those killed there etched in permanence. Why?
You know one thing I have found missing in these EndSARS alleged killings is HUMANITY. I have again experienced another memorial of the event, still I can’t see the faces, ages, names ethnicity, skin tones of the people ALLEGEDLY KILLED at the Lekki Toll Plaza.
I saw the videos of the alleged shooting and killings. I saw videos of the people believed to have been killed and maimed. The soldiers came a night before and allegedly shot them, and by the next morning they were still there on the floor bleeding! A CNN reporter with her crew was present covering this!
When I looked closely, I saw a fantastic show of ingenious use of makeup. My friend and big brother whose name I’d rather not mention,  a champion of the #EndSARS cause, posted these videos to me, when I analysed them and pointed out the fakery in the videos to him, I suddenly saw this multiple PHDs fellow’s intelligence fade. He believed, or probably was selling a lie and in the process took too many people’s intelligence for granted.
Till this day, youth otherwise very intelligent people, on this matter succumbed to have their mental capacities put on hold just to go giddy after a cause they ardently hope and pray is just. Right now the fear of realising that this #EndSARS noise was a desperate act of power hungry, polity heating agenda setting group, an insidious group, runs these people.
The tribunal set up had no witnesses. Some said it was intimidation! Really? For the first time in the history of political Nigeria, the media and the masses speak louder than government. Government has become caged by populist talks, yet someone dares to say people were intimidated by whom? In these days of Social Media? Isn’t it much easier to sell an agendum these days than ever? Yet till date, I haven’t seen a family, family members, or friends who came forth to say with pictures that they lost someone. Yet, our so called elites ,our media runs all over the place singeing the image of this great country ,accusing it of killing its own citizens …You reap what you sow o!
People think the economy is sinking the way it is because of policies! I dey laugh una. Spirits rule the land, not policies, and spirits are energy forms, and from what I see, the energy forms ruling the hearts of Nigerians is NEGATIVE, ANTI-NIGERIAN. Yet you want progress!
Everywhere people are said to have been killed, you see list of names published with dates of birth and death of death. The 1988 Tianemen square Massacre has a monument with list of names. But Lekki Toll Plaza Massacre with all the sophistication of the backers suing for authenticity has no name ,no picture to show. How draconian is the Lagos, or the Nigerian Government compared with that of the Chinese? By now we expected to have had a slab or monuments to the fallen heroes of #Endsars protests. But we have none. And these people want me to consider them credible???
What sort of education did we have all these year, what education produced the people who believe and even sell this story of massacre at the Lekki Tollgate? But we have evidence of carnage committed by the hoodlum end of these #Endsars protesters. We saw BRT buses burnt to cinders, we saw police stations burnt down, we have records of police officers killed by them, but nobody sings of that, what we remember are phantom deads at the Toll Plaza.
When I told my girls who were crying themselves into a pool over these murders, that nobody was killed, that the people paraded with alleged wounds were actors directed by a sick minded dire Tor who takes too much for granted in their audience , that the wounds were not real..that they were opportunistic actors, that it was a case of ingenious makeup used for a Satanic end,  they raved at me. How can you say soldiers came to shoot you at night, and by the next morning you were still down bleeding from the wounds and talking and being talked to?  Someone with a double PhD one from Harvard and the other from Cambridge , a Nigerian with whom I once worked in my days at the agency even posted when I first asked these questions, instructing his followers that people like me who claim that people weren’t killed at Lekki Toll Plaza should be marked down and not given jobs. That post wasn’t only caustic, autocratic, and clearly a mark of intolerance and stupidity,  it spoke of where the propaganda of #Endsars came from.
Today, Peter Obi’s campaign group is the major beneficiary of the #EndSARS protest, because if you look closely, the machinery of the #EndSARS is all Peter Obi’s now. I knew and I said it then that it was politically motivated. A campaign candidate that will use a barefaced body of lies to come to limelight is a candidate to be wary of.
This happens at a time when a vast majority of Nigerians wherever they are have lost their balls. They can no longer speak truth, because they are scared of being attacked. Oh, yes, the #Endsars group are vicious and deadly, they can’t stand oppositions, so they scare people. This is how they have marched forward and morphed into a major political force leading a campaign for a candidate who has not demonstrated love for this country, and of course he is also pushed by a people who hate Nigeria.
These people have given their souls to the savagery of demagoguery, lies proliferate and flower into cancerous fruits in the land and now the land is being bled of its best, bled of its best in human resources,  material input, and mental commitment. We have succeeded in creating for ourselves a perpetual season of negativity and the coming result is scary. Like Sonny Okosuns once did,  I now  ask, “Which Way, Nigeria?”
Would you rather sit back down and face the challenges of nation building square in the eye, knowing that it can’t be delegated to anyone but that everyone is responsible? Would you now want to really do what other nations who are progressing and have ever progressed under the sun did? I am talking about self love, cooperation and collaborations, self belief, and a readiness to grind it now ,subjugating the lazy ego until one attains? If you are ready and willing, you will be able, and Nigeria will be  yours to benefit from, if not, do either of these:
1. Sell your assets and relocate abroad like your brothers and sisters and settle to the hard life you refused to face here at home. You can’t be well in a country you don’t believe in. Be brave like the rest who have left. We are tired of having complaining and grouching entities all over the place…stay here to really work, or leave!
2. Join the bandwagon of those who want a better life in protests, accusations and blame trading and lose in health, and many other ways and then die slowly in a miserable and forced old age. Those who complain are victims and prisoners of what they complain about.
Because to those in (1) and (2) above, the gain is enormous, and it’s not in the interest of Africa. But if you want something better, if you choose wise, the moment may be dour, but the reward will be massive to the glory of Africa.
I am aware that this is a dangerous piece, and it makes those who have begun to forget my existence to wake up to it and do their worst but I am a man above petty spirits, we fear not those who can only destroy our material sides and after that they cannot do anything more. I’d rather be forgotten as a man in the grave than see this whole event happening before me and I say nothing about it. This is crazy and it’s crazy times we are in in Nigeria. If we must grow as a nation we must redirect our beliefs and thoughts. I write from my private, sound thought provoked logic, I am not aligned to any political interest and will never be.  I have never believed that politics will yield the good I desire in life. I KNOW that I create my reality with the resources of my being, all gifts from the source to Whom I owe all my being. So this is an exercise of my selfless service to my nation, and it is a thankless job.
So, like Pontius Pilate, I say to anyone reading this, what I have written, I have written. Let posterity be my judge.
