A 13-year old boy, Master Fadugba Malik, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a whopping sum of N4m belonging to Alhaja Ejide Olaosebikan and bolting away with the money.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ogun Street,  Mercy Eneli Bus Stop,  Surulere area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the boy, Malik, went where the victim, Alhaja Olaosebikan, kept the money and carted it away and was spending the money freely until the information leaked.
The owner, while looking for the missing money, was wondering how it got missing but did not think that it was the little boy that will cart away such huge amount of money.
However, when the information leaked that the suspect, Malik, was spending money anyhow, it gave suspicion that he may have known what happened to the money or who stole it.
The matter was reported to the Police. Consequently, he was arrested and detained for interrogation to know how he got the money he was spending over a period.
During interrogation, he was said to have confessed that he had been stealing the Alhaja’s money since he had access to where she kept the money and she did not suspect him.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Yaba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded guilty when he was arraigned in Court.
The prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to give a short adjournment since he pleaded guilty to enable him to present the facts of the matter so that he will be sentenced accordingly to serve as deterrent to other children who might try such in future.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand in Children’s Remand Home and adjourned the matter for facts and sentence.
