Dele Momodu’s Needless Revisionism!

TEMITOPE AJAYI

It would have made better sense if Basorun Dele Momodu had highlighted parts of Abiola’s ‘HOPE ’93: Farewell To Poverty’ manifesto that was plagiarised by Tinubu, in his own ‘Renewed Hope: Action Plan for a Better Nigeria’.

For me, it smirks of intellectual debauchery to release two articles to double down on same issue just to throw insults without the presence of mind to point out a sentence that was plagiarised. Except the word HOPE is what was plagiarised. I am not sure MKO had a copyright and trademark right to HOPE.

Dele Momodu has always passed himself off as Abiola’s ‘kori kosun” when he was not anywhere near that status with the man according to those who know better.

It is interesting to say that Bob Dee himself ran his mission-to-nowhere presidential bid on the platform of PDP with HOPE 2023 slogan and nobody accused him of ‘copy and paste’ of Abiola’s slogan.

I recognise the point that Dele Momodu has always made himself a joint heir to anything MKO Abiola.

One can even say he possibly takes precedence over Kola Abiola in some matters that concern the late business mogul the way he has always projected himself as more Abiola than the man’s children.
