Man, 27, Docked For Initiating 2 Ronic Poly Students Into Secret Cult

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 27-year old man, Nwaogu Obioma, for allegedly attacking, initiating two students of Ronic Polytechnic into a secret cult and forcing them to take oath of allegiance. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Aiyelegun Road, Bucknor area of Ejigbo, Lagos, where he accosted the victims, Solomon Odutola and Olosonde Victor.
The Police said that the suspect, Obioma and other members of his gang now at large, accosted Odutola and Victor in front of the school during their recruitment exercise and asked them to join their cult group.
The victims were said to have been attacked by the cult members with some objects after they had rejected their request to join but they eventually intimidated and forced the victims into taking oaths while initiating them inside a bush in Ogun State.
During the initiation process, they were forced to take an oath of allegiance as members of the cult and never to reveal the secret of the cult group.
However, after the whole initiation, one of the victims revealed what happened to his parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division and the School Management. The Police moved into action and arrested the suspect, Obioma and detained him at the station for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, the Police discovered that he was not alone in the act as there were other members of the group, who were involved and going from school to school to intimidate and recruit innocent students into the cult group.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate,  Mrs. A. K. Dosumu, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The Court ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions and adjourned the matter till 28th November, 2022, for mention as Police were said to have intensified efforts to arrest other members of the group now at large.
